The Yomega Gyrex is a vintage, wide-bodied yo-yo designed for both beginners and intermediate players. It features a unique centrifugal clutch "auto-return" system (often called "the Brain") and a roller bearing, letting the yo-yo spin for long periods and return to the hand automatically.
Features:
- Auto-Return System: The centrifugal clutch opens on a hard throw for long, smooth spins. As the spin slows down, the clutch re-engages and forces the yo-yo to return to your hand automatically.
- Bearing: Utilizes a roller bearing to minimize friction and maximize spin time.
- Wing Shape: The Gyrex features a flared, wing shape that makes catching the yo-yo on the string much easier while performing string tricks.
- Maintenance: Like other Yomega clutch yo-yos, the two halves unscrew. The modular setup makes it easy to untangle knots, and keeping the axle slightly lubricated ensures the clutch mechanism engages properly.
