US Navy multi-mission maritime aircraft. The P-8A design is similar to the commercial 737-800. It's been deployed for long range anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare, reconnaissance, intelligence, search & rescue and surveillance.
It is equipped with an infrared sensor turret, advanced radar, and is capable of air-to-air refueling. The P-8 combines advanced weapon systems with low operational costs. It shares commonality with commercial aircraft providing supply chain economy for production and parts support.
The P-8A is currently flown by the US Navy, Royal Australian Air Force, UK Royal Air Force, Royal Norwegian Air Force, and the Royal New Zealand Air Force. The Republic of Korea Navy, German Navy and Royal Canadian Air Force have chosen to add the P-8A to their future fleets.
